Dine in Style - Industrial Chic

The industrial look is bang on trend and easy to achieve. Industrial chic is all about textures, mixing metals and reclaimed wood with fabrics and accessories to create a utilitarian style. A combination of brick effect wallpaper and reclaimed wood or metal furniture are a quick and easy way to get the look.

If you're not keen on the thought of brown wallpaper, brick effect wallpaper doesn't have to be brick colour. This White Brick Wallpaper (5) from Harley & Lola  provides a stunning backdrop to set the industrial chic scene; just add a rustic dining table and some copper home accessories. Mix textures to provide contrast, such as the rougher visual texture of brick wallpaper and a smooth wooden table, adding reclaimed wood or metal dining chairs and a bright tablecloth. To avoid your home feeling like a cold factory, simply add some soft fabrics, artwork and ceramics, which work to add a feminine touch.

To achieve the industrial chic style you don't need to completely overhaul your dining room. It is possible to inject utilitarian style through simple accessories, light fittings or furniture. Industrial style lighting, such as our Antique Brass Pendant (4), will give your dining room an instant industrial feel. Try adding a reclaimed wood dining table, such as the Vintage Foundry Round Table (1) , which is made from reclaimed fir with metal legs, providing plenty of rustic style.

With industrial chic, items do not have to be used in the way they were designed. Kitsch stools made from tractor seats, such as the New York Loft Stool (2), go perfectly with a reclaimed wood table or breakfast bar. Pay attention to details and add stand out items, such as the Hoxton Wine rack (3) in teak and steel, to complete the industrial look in your kitchen and dining room.
