Update Your Garden
The furniture and furnishings you buy for your garden are just as important as the design of the plants and flowers you grow; not only will they add to the overall appeal of your garden but they can also be functional if chosen properly – ensuring you get what you want from your garden.
There are quite a few things you can do to make your garden more alluring and encouraging you to spend time relaxing there during the summer:
If you plan to eat, relax or socialise in your garden, you’ll need a table and chairs of some kind. Just as there are multiple choices when it comes to indoor furniture, there are also many choices when it comes to outdoor dining and seating.
A formal table and chairs is one option, but there are also more casual options, such as daybeds or sofa sets which offer you the chance to relax and be as casual in your garden as you might be in your lounge.
One thing to consider when choosing your furniture, beyond space, is how many people you’re expecting to seat. If you’re a large family and outdoor dining is something you’re likely to do on a regular basis, a table and chair set is likely to be the best solution.
Alternatively, if you’re a couple and you’ll be using the garden for just the two of you, there are many chic and cosy alternatives to an imposing table, such as love seats or daybeds.
Of course, you don’t have to be formal when it comes to your arrangements. If you’re more casual or you’re intending to use your garden to relax and rejuvenate, a hammock or a swing could be a much better option for your main garden furniture.
Make sure you add stylish accents to your outdoor space. Just like an indoor room, simply adding furniture to an outdoor space would make it look and feel quite bare.
Accessorise your outdoor space as if it was your living room. The more style the better to ensure your garden has the wow factor. Add garden ornaments, lanterns and other outdoor candle holders to create a warm and cosy space.
Make your space comfortable. Add pillows and cushions to your sofas and chairs, or choose bean bags for comfy slouching. Get specific outdoor cushions so you don't need to worry about them being rained on. Get lots - cushions are so inviting and makes your space look inviting.
Not only do parasols actually have a function, protecting you and your family from harmful UV rays and giving you shade from being dazzled as you eat or drink, but they can also give a garden the finishing touches it needs, in a range of colours and finishes.
Patio heaters are practical, however, they are not very environmentally friendly so here at Harley & Lola we would recommend searching for an alternative type of heating. You can select from a wide range of fuel solutions so whatever your particular preference, there’s sure to be an option for you, including chimeneas and fire pits.
